Trip Overview
The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal's most beautiful and adventurous trekking journeys. The trek takes you around Mount Manaslu (8,163 m), the world's eighth-highest mountain. It is a wonderful choice for trekkers who want to experience remote mountain landscapes, traditional villages, Buddhist culture, and spectacular Himalayan views away from the busier trekking routes.
The journey follows the Budhi Gandaki Valley from the lower hills toward the high Himalayan region. Along the way, you pass through beautiful forests, waterfalls, suspension bridges, terraced fields, traditional villages, monasteries, and high alpine valleys. As the altitude increases, the landscape shifts from green, subtropical surroundings to dry, rocky, snow-covered mountain terrain.
One of the major highlights of the trek is Samagaun, where you spend an acclimatization day and can hike toward Manaslu Base Camp or Pungyen Gompa. The trail then continues toward Samdo and Dharmasala before the challenging crossing of Larke Pass at 5,110 m. After crossing the pass, the trail descends toward Bhimtang and Dharapani, completing the main trekking section.
The Manaslu Circuit is a challenging trek, but it offers a rewarding combination of natural beauty, Himalayan culture, adventure, and peaceful mountain experiences.
