Trip Overview

The Langtang to Helambu via Gosaikunda Trek is a 14-day trekking journey that combines the beautiful Langtang Valley, sacred Gosaikunda Lake, Lauribina Pass, and the peaceful villages of Helambu. It is a good option for trekkers who want to experience different landscapes and cultures without going too far from Kathmandu.

The trek starts with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. From here, the trail follows the Langtang River through forests, waterfalls, Tamang villages, and mountain landscapes. Continue to Langtang Village, then to Kyanjin Gompa, where you spend an extra day exploring the area and enjoying views of Langtang Lirung and other Himalayan peaks.

After returning through the Langtang Valley, the route turns toward Thulo Syabru and climbs gradually to the Gosaikunda region. Gosaikunda is a sacred high-altitude lake surrounded by mountains and several smaller alpine lakes. From here, you cross the Lauribina Pass before descending toward the Helambu region.

The final days take you through Tarkeghyang, Sermathang, and other traditional Helambu settlements. The trail becomes greener as you lose altitude, with forests, terraced fields, Buddhist monasteries, and local villages along the way. The trek ends with a drive back to Kathmandu.
