Trip Overview

The Everest Gokyo Lakes Trek is one of the most beautiful ways to explore Nepal's Everest region. This journey takes you through peaceful Sherpa villages, colorful forests, high mountain valleys, glacial landscapes, and the stunning turquoise lakes of Gokyo.

Organized by Universe Himalayan Treks, this 14-day package is designed for travelers who want to experience the beauty of the Khumbu region at a comfortable pace. The itinerary includes arrival in Kathmandu, a scenic flight to Lukla, gradual altitude gain, acclimatization in Namche Bazaar, exploration of Gokyo Lakes, a sunrise hike to Gokyo Ri, and the return journey to Kathmandu.

The trek starts in Lukla and follows the Dudh Koshi River through traditional villages and mountain forests. After reaching Namche Bazaar, the route turns toward the quieter Gokyo Valley. The trail then continues through Dole and Machhermo before reaching Gokyo, a small mountain settlement surrounded by high peaks, glaciers, and beautiful lakes.

The highlight of the trip is the hike to Gokyo Ri at around 5,357 meters. From the summit, you can enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and many other Himalayan peaks. The view of the Gokyo Lakes and Ngozumpa Glacier from above makes the climb especially memorable.

Along the way, you will also experience the warm hospitality of the Sherpa people. Traditional stone houses, Buddhist monasteries, prayer wheels, mani walls, and colorful prayer flags add a strong cultural element to the adventure.

With Universe Himalayan Treks, you can enjoy a carefully planned journey supported by an experienced trekking team throughout the route.
