Trip Overview

The Gokyo Valley Trek is a beautiful journey through the Everest region of Nepal. The trail takes you through peaceful Sherpa villages, green forests, mountain valleys, glaciers, and high Himalayan landscapes. It is a great choice for travelers who want to experience the beauty of the Everest region while exploring a quieter trail than the main Everest Base Camp route.

The main attraction of the trek is the beautiful Gokyo Lakes. The clear blue and green lakes sit among snowy mountains and rocky landscapes. You will also see the huge Ngozumpa Glacier, one of the major highlights of the region. Gokyo Village, located beside the lakes, offers a peaceful place to enjoy the mountain surroundings.

Another major highlight is the hike to Gokyo Ri at around 5,357 meters. Although the climb can be challenging, the view from the top is worth the effort. From Gokyo Ri, you can see Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and many other Himalayan peaks. You can also enjoy beautiful views of the Gokyo Lakes and the surrounding valley.

The trek also gives you an opportunity to experience Sherpa culture and mountain life. Along the trail, you will see Buddhist prayer flags, mani walls, monasteries, traditional houses, and small mountain villages. You will stay in local tea houses and enjoy traditional Nepali and mountain meals.

Universe Himalayan Treks organizes the Gokyo Valley Trek with an experienced local team. We help arrange flights, permits, accommodation, meals, guides, porters, and airport transfers so you can enjoy your Himalayan adventure with less worry.
