Trip Overview

The Lower Manaslu Homestay Eco Trek is a short, beautiful trek through the traditional villages and peaceful landscapes of the lower Manaslu region. This trek is a good choice for travellers who want to experience village life, local culture, mountain scenery, and homestay hospitality without spending many days at high altitude.

The journey starts from Kathmandu and continues by bus to Barpak Village, a beautiful Gurung settlement located at around 1,920 meters. From Barpak, the trail passes through traditional villages, forests, farmland, and mountain ridges before reaching Laprak Village and Nambai Kharka.

A main highlight of the trek is the hike to Dharche Danda at around 3,220 meters, which offers beautiful views of the surrounding Himalayan landscape. The route then descends through Tallo Thotneri and Deurali before returning to Kathmandu.

The trek uses local homestay accommodation, allowing travellers to experience local food, culture, traditions, and the daily lifestyle of mountain communities. It is also a good option for travellers seeking a more community-based, responsible trekking experience.
