Trip Overview

The Upper Mustang Trek – 15 Days is one of Nepal’s most unique Himalayan trekking experiences. The trek takes you into the remote Mustang region, where you can explore ancient villages, Tibetan-style culture, old monasteries, dramatic cliffs, caves, and dry mountain landscapes.

Upper Mustang lies in the rain-shadow area of the Himalayas. As a result, the region receives much less rainfall than many other parts of Nepal. This makes it possible to explore Upper Mustang even during the monsoon season.

The trek begins with a journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara and then continues toward Jomsom. From Jomsom, you walk through Kagbeni, Chele, Syangbochen, Ghami, Tsarang, and Lo Manthang.

Lo Manthang is the trek's main attraction. This ancient settlement lets you experience the Mustang region's traditional lifestyle, architecture, monasteries, and culture.

The Upper Mustang Trek is perfect for travelers who want to experience a remote Himalayan destination away from busy trekking routes.
